REMINDER: Wednesday, November 9, is a planned eLearning Day. No students will report to school, but will instead complete assignments online. Teachers will be participating in professional development throughout the day, but will make students aware of their availability. If your child has a question about the assignment, but is unable to reach their teacher at that time, encourage them to ask their question when they return to school on Thursday! Thank you for your partnership and support!

We had a special visitor at Concord High today. Division Chief David Cushwa of the Elkhart City Fire Department came to present a distinguished service award to one of teachers and band directors Mr Bryan Golden for his act of bravery. A few weeks ago Mr Golden saw a house on fire and stop to inform the home owners. When no one answered the door, he proceeded to use a garden hose to help extinguish the fire while calling the fire department. After EFD arrived and extinguished the fire, the homer owners emerged from the house. They have trouble hearing and didnā€™t even realize they were in danger. Thank you, Bryan Golden, for this act of bravery and congratulations on this recognition! #ConcordPride

As we enjoy an extra long weekend, don't forget to encourage your child to pick up a book and read! Encouraging your child to read for 20-30 minutes per day -- either on their own or with you -- makes all the difference in developing their early literacy skills. And early literacy skills are one of the strongest indicators of a child's future success! #ConcordPride #ConcordReadsTogether

Third-grade students at Concord West Side recently completed a unit on the human body and invited Melody Knudson, the deaf and hard of hearing teacher at Concord Intermediate, to speak with students about what it means to be deaf or hard of hearing. She showed the students many different signs in American Sign Language, and she offered students a chance to ask questions. It was a very informative, engaging, and enlightening learning opportunity for our students! #ConcordPride

šŸšŒ National School Bus Safety Week! šŸšŒ This week serves as a reminder about the important role that we all play in keeping students safe. School buses are one of the safest vehicles on the road. Students who ride the bus are more likely to get to school safely, than those who are driven to school in a car. That is because school buses are designed with keeping children safe in mind. Thank you for following school bus safety rules and keeping our kids safe! Lastly, thank you to our bus drivers who go above and beyond to ensure the safety of students to and from school! We appreciate you! #ConcordPride #StaySafeConcord

Third-grade students at Concord East Side have been reading about the human body, including the muscular and skeletal systems. On Friday, they had a visit from IU Med students who helped them connect what they'd read to real-world experiences they've had in the medical field. Special thanks to former East Side student Morgan Lain for this awesome experience!
